Let’s take a moment to thank social media algorithms and spurts of creative juices that pushes us to create content in unique ways?
Well, If you’re someone who has very little knowledge of video editing and creating videos from scratch, here’s a list of 9 apps that’ll help you create eye-catching video content by just stitching together images or video clips 😁
1. Lumen5
Lumen5 is one of the easiest ways to create video content in about 5 minutes. You can create videos with the help of templates that are readily available based on the social platform, kind of content and audience.
It also has an option to create `Instant videos`. A feature where you simply add URL of your blog or website with RSS feed and the app will fetch your blogs/ posts and create beautiful videos with little human assistance. I mean, SO COOL!
You can also manually add script, images, videos and edit. It’s as easy as creating a PowerPoint presentation ⚡️
2. Life Lapse
Life Lapse is a mobile app that helps you capture and bring your memories to life in a new and unique way — Stop motion videos ⭐️
It could be something as simple as sharing your OOTD, document your travel or vacation or capture one product in multiple locations or settings and the list goes on. . . .
All you have to do is create a project, capture images as the app directs you to or add all previously clicked images/ videos to a project.
Once done, the app stitches all the images or video clips together. You can then select a filter, a song/music and a video ratio based on the platform you’d like to publish to and you’re done.
3. Canva
Talking about happy endings? For 2019, it had to be Canva announcing their video editing feature! While it’s in beta, you can still go ahead and create a quick video by following these steps —
- Tap on Create a design.
- Lookup for Video template.
- Select a template from the available options.
- Add your own text content.
- Choose a soundtrack and you’re good to go! 😎
4. Adobe spark
Adobe spark is a free app that helps you create quick key information/ communication videos in just a few steps!
All you have to do is
- Create a project.
- Select pre-designed layouts.
- Upload video/images from your own library or by connecting Google photos/Google drive or even connect to Dropbox.
- You could also use the images from the Free Photo option that allows you to pick images from Pixabay or Unsplash.
- Add text and spice it up with a soundtrack! 🎵
Once done, you can either publish directly to the platform of your choice or save/download for later use.
Here’s something I created on the web app —
5. Animaker
Animaker is a quick and easy DIY video-making tool. It helps you create content both tiny as well as full-length videos for your Youtube channel or a Webinar. You could also create cool GIFs using this app.
It also has a cool feature where you could build a character, edit 4k resolution videos and you can re-size content in just a few clicks based on the social platform you’re publishing to.
6. Animoto
Animoto helps you create short videos in the form of storyboards by simply dragging and dropping images/ videos.
It has a free trial that allows you to access all its features for 14 days 😍
Once you add all the images/ videos you can add music by searching for genres/ moods by tapping on the Music icon at the bottom left of your screen!

7. Crello
Crello helps you create animated posts, and videos based on the platform you’re publishing to.
They have a standard set of formats that you could choose from or you could also create a design by adding custom dimensions.
It’s similar to Canva but has limited templates when compared.
I chose the Square video post format for this animated post –
8. Typito
Typito is a web app that allows you to create short scenes, add titles, logos, text, set transition to images as well as titles!
I put together a recipe for my Instagram stories and turned them into a short clip using Typito.
9. iMovie
This app is restrictive to iOS users only but make video editing, GIF-making and putting together clips so much easier.
All you have to do is import the footage from your phone and if it’s on your machine you could simply upload it or drag & drop it under the project you created.
Once done, you can edit each clip, split and delete the unwanted bit, adjust the speed and stability, add music and text if needed!
Crowdfire, actually Sam creates all the cool GIFs on the iMovies app!
